Encarta was the first CD-ROM package I used. I can recall spending hours looking through videos, articles, facts, etc. I don’t recall ever browsing Wikipedia with this passion in the age of information overload. It has interactive games, articles, and multimedia for children aged 7 and over.

I have a collection of digital remote sensing disks that were made in anticipation of satellite maps. An old DeLorme US Atlas that was released in anticipation of satellite maps is my best friend. It would be wonderful if it could be made free of charge for those children who don’t have good quality information. I can also recall spending hours on the ground with Britannica volumes stacked around me.
