After the DeskProto V6.1 trial expires, it is no longer possible to save calculated toolpaths in an NC file. Additional wizards are available for continuous rotation (or ‘Rotary Machining’), and indexed machining, or ‘Two-sided, automatic rotation’. DeskProto V6.1 licensees can download a new trial to upgrade their version. This will overwrite any changes you have made to the standard cutters and machines. The interface is the same for all four DeskProto editions: Entry, Expert, Multi-Axis, and Free. All editions can read the other’s project files. This means that even after upgrading from Entry Edition to Expert Edition, all Entry projects can still be opened.

DeskProto Multi-Axis Edition is for those who need more than three axes. Model makers need complex models, jewelers require wax models, and artists need to machine a sculpture from all sides. You can download all four editions (Free, Entry Expert, Expert, and Multi-Axis) of DeskProto V7.1.
DeskProto can be used in combination with any 3DCAD program and any CNC milling machine. Clients with an older license can still use the DeskProto V6.1 Setup to reinstall V6.1 software. The QuickStart manual will provide a quick guide to help you get started with DeskProto.
We offer special pricing for upgrading to a higher edition. The Austin Healey “Frogeye”, a car model, has been machined using Five-Axis machining. Indexed machining is possible on both a 4-axis (A-axis), and a 5-axis (A-axis, and B-axis). You can also create toolpaths for both 4-axis and 5-axis machines. All functions are included in the Multi-Axis Edition.
This software can also read STL files from any 3D-CAM software. All Strategies on the Expert page can be used for both three-axis jobs as well as indexed machining. These illustrations show additional Strategies for continuous rotation.
DeskProto 7.1 can be downloaded and installed. You can continue to use the free edition for as long as your wish, without paying any fees. You can use the three extended editions in Trial mode. After purchasing a license, these editions cannot be unlocked. DeskProto is a graphic software that allows you to create 3D prototypes of your products.
